Have you been to Minneapolis? It's a pretty awesome city in it's own right.

I'm genuinely curious about your top 25.

Yes, it's nice to visit but I wouldn't want to live there

Hell I'd probably have to keep a winter home in the south to live in Chicago

Agreed, California is the first or second most beautiful state that I've been to.

Really? I can see that it sucks to travel living on Hawaii, but my family members who live there love it. I can definitely see the allure of living there, everything is 'chill' and slow paced.

Hawaii saves Alaska in that region or it would easily be the worst

ITT, a bunch of people who live in Louisiana that don't realize they live in the worst region of the US

I've heard from people who live in the area that it feels colder in Chicago than is does in Minneapolis (due to the winds coming off of the lake).

I don't doubt that but Chicago has tons more to offer than Minneapolis

Having lived in both Minneapolis and Chicago, that is not true. Minneapolis is significantly colder than Chicago. The only time the lake really makes it feel colder is the spring when the water temps are significantly below the air temps, but you need winds out of the east or northeast, which is far less common than wind out of the west.

Though given the colder temps, Minneapolis feels sunnier than Chicago in the winter.

On this map the Southeast region has DC, Miami, New Orleans, Nashville, Atlanta, Asheville, Charleston, Savannah, the Smoky Mountains, the Gulf Coast beaches, and the Outer Banks. Sure there are shitty areas in the South, but it's not one of the bottom two regions according to that map.

Navy friends stationed there used to tell me:

1. Sucks to be so far away from family and hometown friends
2. Everything is damn expensive
3. Locals hate you

AK is self explanatory unless you're an off-the-grider

But I can certainly see HI pushing the overall grade higher then "the worst"

Alaska & Hawaii really shouldn't be considered a "region".

These 3 things definitely exist, but the positives outweigh all of that, IMO.

New Mexico & Arizona are very underrated spots. I'd avoid Oklahoma like the plague.
