When they replaced bumper jacks those ridiculous tiny screw jacks. The designer of those little "jacks" should spend eternity in hell changing driver side flats on the shoulder of I-12

Cruise Control.
It used to be an option, but now is standard equipment. I'm very anti cruise control as it (along with texting) leads to traffic jams on our interstates.
I would pay extra to NOT have cruise control in any vehicle.

Pop Up Head Lights were awesome. My first car was an 86 RX-7 that had them.
I predict that there'll be a retro design on a future car model that has them in the next 10 years.

Loved the pop up lights on my C4 and C5 vettes. Actually kinda disappointed that my C6 doesn't have them.

It's without a doubt the bitch that talks to you in the Maxima. This wanna be Siri was introduced in '83 and contributed to many morning of me saying "I know my fuel level is low bitch, if I had any money I'd fill it up.."

Cruise control is great on extended road trips. You must be a speed changer if you hate cruise so much.

the seat belts that moved when you shut the door. I hated those. The Camry had them.
All the Emissions equipment is another answer.

We're those lighters in the back seats of Lincoln Mark Vs? I burnt my finger on one once in my aunts car.

Statistically a huge success, accidents dropped significantly after they made them mandatory on new vehicles

I don't use it, either.

Ahhhh....the Lincoln Mark V. Wow that just sparked a memory.
Not 1980's but my brother-in-law bought a new Mark V in 1979 (the "Cartier Edition"). It was straight out pimp mobile. Four of the worst features that stood out.
The hidden headlights (not pop up)
The half vinyl roof
The small round back seat windows
The rounded trunk that looked like the spare tire was in there (can't remember if the tire was there or not)
If you really wanted to look more pimp, check out the paint scheme on the Bill Blass edition.
