Red wings hands down are the best. About $250 but they are worth it.

I swear by Magnum. The most comfortable set of boots I've ever worn.

just get a pair of slip on Justins. They're the most comfortable and durable boots for the money.

I rock the Justin's with the gel sole probably 16 hours a day, every day. Mud, water, dry dirt, sand, sawdust, etc. They're still kicking shite. I have waterproof lace-ups for when I'm walking on uneven ground a lot or standing in water all day. Can't beat their ankle support.

Red Wings turned to shite a while ago. I went through two pair of their expensive ones within a month. Was gonna get Thorogoods this time, but I didn't have time to order my boots online. Went back with Justin's because I like them.

I use Obenaufs Heavy Duty LP on my boots because of the environments they see all of the time. They are covered in white primer and clay right now

some people don't know alternatives are out there that don't weigh a ton. They test the green guys by stomping their feet, your composites will pass the test. $100 for a pair of Cat's or Wolverine.

Composites don't hold up to chainsaws, and that's a negative

How concerned should I be about chainsaws and my toes?

red wing King toe

Just bought my 6th pair of these. I wear the hell out of them. Composite toe is wide and roomy. Don't get waterproof you'll sweat in em. Buy these and put two coats of neatsfoot oil on em. Then reapply every 6 months or so. Use a hair dryer to heat the leather up ( or leave em in truck on hot day) before oiling. Great great great boots. Red wing offers a whole line of King toes. Non lace up as well.
