Will we ever see the night when a corporation or country brands the moon?

Walking my dog tonight I could not help but admire the full moon on this brisk clear night.
Then I got to thinking if a company like Coke, Disney, Halliburton, etc or a country would ever have the resources & desire to brand the moon with their logo.
I figure it really can't be illegal as no one owns the moon. So, if a super rich company or country like the US, Russia, GB, etc. sent up their own rocket shuttle mission & put up some lights or some massive glowing paint job so that every person in the world could look up at the moon & see their logo/flag/message for all of time...
Not high. Not drunk. Just wondering if it's possible...

Like on The Tick?
I doubt cost/benefit could make it worth while.

You know the moon has roughly the surface area of Asia, right?

Seems like one of those things that would have a significant amount of backlash and generally be disliked by the majority of folks.

It would only make sense if Kraft did it, since the moon is made of cheese.

FWIW, we can only see one side of the moon.

A project like that would dwarf the Great Wall of china by orders of magnitude.
It would be cheaper to literally give everyone in the world their product.

This is a great idea. We can even use the moon to signal Batman!

Chattanooga Bakery should buy the moon

Here is to hoping Ferrari decides to try it first.
On a serious note, if it ever became feasible I'd imagine it would be done through some type of laser/light trick rather than something physically placed or painted on the surface of the moon.

It is 11:30pm on a Sunday. Is it really that bad of a thread given the context?

Had to Google.
Someone always beats me to my big ideas...
The laser lights idea is pretty solid. Much more cost effective as well.
