Don't want to drop $50 on a one way cab ride for Jazzfest

I hear they will pick you up at departure gate at SFO.

I thought they placed a city ordinance that imposed a $75 fee. I could be wrong.

Walk to the gas station across the street. Pay Uber X price instead of mandated $75 fee.

Not worth the hassle, just take a cab.

Über can drop off, but not pick up at MSY. Only the $75 uber black can pickup. Catch a cab or shuttle.

walking across the street to the gas station will probably take 20 minutes plus you have to cross 6 lanes of airline highway. pick your poison I guess.

Pretty sure there is a barrier you would have to jump too but hey isten to lunchbox. Nothing like getting hit by a car before jazzfest to save a buck.

Yep, just take one of those rental car shuttles to their lot (across the street) and get Iberia from there

Blame your stupid taxi cronies for making Uber have to jump through hoops to have a regular Uber X pick you up from the airport. Taxi will never get a dime from me ever.

Get on one of the free hotel shuttles and then when you get to the hotel act as if you are waiting for someone to check in but just order the Uber X from there

A lot of bullshite to avoid taking a $36 cab (which isn't a bad price). The Uber could be a lot more. Thought this was the OT? Bunch of misers here.

Simple solution...

1. Start your own fortune 500 company

2. Makes billions of dollars and buy a Gulfstream

3. Fly into Lakefront airport

4. Get Uber to pick you up

I like some of the ideas. Always best to consult the OT. I could buy several pints of Coors Heavy at the fest with my savings.

A couple of years ago it took over an hour to get a cab from Camelia Grill back to the quarter during Jazzfest. I'm sure the airport is an easier pickup, but those taxis get no love from me.

Its really not a lot of hassle at all and the $36 cab ride (plus tip) is bullshite because its flat rate so if you are by yourself you don't need to go downtown/French Quarter you are paying way too much for nothing other than something that's a "law" that only protects taxis.

Not allowing Uber to pick up at airports is messed up.

Or $10 or less...

When I was a poor medical student I had a residency interview in New Orleans then one the next day in Little Rock. I flew to MSY, got my bags, walked out the front door and across Airline Highway to the Budget Rental Truck store. Rented a small 10-footer for $75 flat and rolled out to my two interviews driving an empty moving truck. Dropped it off in Little Rock and avoided the $150 drop fee rental car places charge you. Had a buddy drop me off at the airport. It can be done.
