Yeah he looked like a normal dude, played football within the city, owned his own business in the city (towing/auto sales)
Probably a fender bender and they exchanged words and the dude took it to another level after having too many drinks and feeling insulted.

This is what I thought as well. Sht like this is unbelievable in this city.
Will Smith was a great guy. I've met him a few times and he was always nice.
He was a great guy and a Saints HoF. Prayers sent to his family and friends.
Time to clear out the fricking scum around that area.

The other guy is also on fb. Nothing earth shattering on his profile either.
I'm guessing one of them was drunk and did something incredibly dumb.
He posted this a few years ago. Ironic.

Good they have him in custody. Death is to good for that piece of shite. But I hope they kill him slowly.

Senseless. Absolutely senseless. He was a good person! I think at one point he lived out in Metairie. Would see him and his wife ride bikes along the lake. Nice, normal people. They didn't have to stay in New Orleans. Now I wish they didn't.
P.S. This thread should probably be carpetbombed. It is as embarrassing as the shooting is to the city. I hate that people like you (those making idiotic comments) exist to make such horrible comments.

While it is senseless, this is New Orleans we're talking about.
Maybe this will actually get the city moving in the right direction.

I will never understand it. The mentality of road rage completely alludes me. It happens EVERYWHERE,and eventually to almost every person who drives.
A few weeks ago, a man driving a pickup cut me off. Silly me, tooted my horn at him, as this was my knee-jerk reaction. Apparently, my reaction made him feel threatened, so he flipped me the bird and hauled arse down the road showing me who was the boss. I guess I'm lucky he didn't get a gun out.
All this in huge, horribly unsafe metropolis of Mountain Home,AR. Or it could have been that he felt threatened by me and had to prove he was tougher, since I am a white-haired woman driving a little Chevy. Had to have scared the shite out of him.
tldr; I don't get the mentality of road rage; it has nothing to do with NOLA or any other city, nothing to do with race, or what provoked the incident. YOU do something stupid, scare the other driver, the other driver honks at you, so YOU react and might even blow them away.
What ever happened to "Oops, I fricked up, sorry I almost caused an accident. I'll go on my way now."

Sucks big time.... A buddy worked with his wife a while back and said they were nice people.
Hopefully he had his financials and life insurance in order so his wife and kids don't have to worry about that shite too.
Damn shame....

Wonder how much other dude had to do with it, for all we know he could have just been in the wrong car at the wrong time. Sounds as if only one guy opened fire so we have no idea.

I wish we had driverless cars already.

Damn this is crazy. I met him a few times and he was a really nice down to earth guy.
And as far as those saying to clean up the streets, this wasn't one of those incidents. Double the NOPD, martial law, national guard etc wouldn't have prevented this from happening unfortunately. This was a spur of the moment type thing. However, the majority of the murders in the city don't fit that same criteria.
