We (fortunately) do not have a problem with them around here. Can you eat wild boar? I would think those nasty bastards can accumulate some bad shite in their day-to-day destruction of forests.

Yeah you can. You dont really want the large males, but the sows are good. Rivals deer meat.

You can't just shoot them on the side of the road.

Look into local gun laws if not shooting them on private property.

Used to be a hunting lease. No idea if it still is. I've been dropped off there a few times, and it's nice

We have a big problem with them on our land down in Carville. That's just a quick jog to Gardere. Those hogs are all up and down the batture.

My grandmother lives in the George oneal area. On some acerage. A few months ago three turkeys walked out of the woods to eat the food she puts out for deer. It was weird.

I saw a huge beaver by Highland between Bluebonnet and Siegen. This dude was tremendous. Much bigger than any dog you would see and thick. He was banging his flat arse tail on the ground looking pissed. It was quite a sight.

Turkeys catch you by surprise often time because you think it's a buncha buzzards. But then they walk or run and you be like "dayum that there is some Turkeys!"

You have to have a license to hunt them year round. They can only be hunted at night on private property, and Wildlife and Fisheries or the local LEO has to be notified.

Anywhere in La. where there are woods, there will be boars. When I was a kid growing up in da Parish, there was a small patch of woods between my subdivision and the next one. It was only 1/2 sq. mile of woods, with no other large wooded areas nearby. We searched those woods for snakes on almost a daily basis for years and had no clue there were pigs there. Then a buddy of mine showed me a pic of a 300 lb. sow that he shot there. Started going out at night, and they were all over back there. Once you knew they were there, they weren't hard to find in the day or night.
