You're missing the point where the ACTUAL biological father is now married and lives with the child.
He doesnt owe anything.
I'm not missing that point at all. You're missing the point that, if that bothers him so much, then he could have renounced BOTH his legal parental rights and his legal parental responsibilities. But he's not doing that. He's trying to renounce his legal parental responsibilities but maintain his legal parental rights. It doesn't work that way.
Why should it legally matter at all who his ex-wife marries? Legally, that man is not her father and has no parental rights or responsibilities.

You never answered my question.
Why are you uncovering four year old articles for OP material? What you been googling?

I know what you are saying, but that's bull. You really think this guy plays no role in the girl's life?
Don't be naive.
I can admit its a tricky case, but no way should the biological father be exempt while this guy pays. Especially when the biological father is married to the mother and lives with the child.
7,500 at that.

i read the article in 2009.
anecdotes don't make trends. i would say you are smarter than this but based on your post history I don't think this is the case.

I never said he plays no role in her life. He's her stepfather. But that has no bearing on the fact that legally, "Mike" is the girls real father, and that's because he wants to be. If he wants to maintain his legal rights as a father, then he should suck it up and fulfill his legal obligations as well.
If he feels he's paying too much child support or if he feels that his ex-wife does not require child support, then that's a different matter, but the fact that the man that married his ex-wife happens to be the girl's biological father does not and should not have any legal significance whatsoever.
