Why is Tiger Stadium closed to the public? Are all stadiums?

I see that a man was arrested for bringing a hooker into Tiger Stadium last night and that got me thinking - why is the Stadium never really open to the public? I know you can take tours and such, but why can't you just stroll into the stadium and exercise? If there's no game/event, then what's the harm?

I've seen other stadiums on YouTube/TV wherein people are inside only for personal exercise. Sometimes this is even at night. I've read about people practicing/doing a tour de stade at Rose Bowl Stadium and others across the country. Are those stadiums open to the public? Did all of those people have to get special access (which seems highly unlikely)? Is there a "membership" pass for exercising in those stadiums?

Personally, I wouldn't mind being able to go into Tiger Stadium and running up/down the stairs or the ramps. This is a stadium at a public university after all.

Come to think of it, is the Bernie Moore Track Stadium open to the public? Every time I've walked around it the gates are all closed and padlocked.

While driving through Missouri one time I stopped at the University of Missouri's stadium and went in with some friends. There were some people there exercising as well.

I am guessing they don't want people to just go in and.. No telling what they will do. People would be going in trying to get pieces of grass from the stadium, etc. But evidently it isn't "too closed" to the public because a lot of people have been getting in lately.

Probably to save the institution from getting sued if someone gets hurt. I do know athletes are allowed to work out in the stadium. We used to all the time. I went back this past weekend and they added eye scanners to the workout facility so non athletes couldn't get in and get in the stadium.

LSU could make some money allowing people to tour the stadium.

I don't see why they can't open them during normal hours with a couple of employees on hand and close them at night like a pool.

Although one legitimate issue I see would be the field getting some wear and tear.

It would certainly be a pain in the arse clearing all the people fricking on the field and in the suites and hosing everything down before game time on Saturday.

In the 80's I ran on the Bernie Moore track almost every night. It was always open.

Do you live in a bubble?

People suck. People would trash the fricking stadium or use it for nefarious purposes. This ain't Mayberry, baw.

This is offered at other stadiums and would be a great way to generate revenue for LSU. Hell, some places even allow you to get married in the stadium.

Meh.

You would have to hire a bunch of people to chaperone the people hanging out in the stadium all day. It's better closed
