I am always amazed, in this day and age, when I see people throwing trash out the windows of their cars. How fricking trashy are you?? It isn't that hard to just throw it away once you get home to to someplace with a trash can.

Have you ever driven the I-20 between the La/TX line and Dallas. The side of the road litter is worse than anything I've seen in LA. There are some on ramps in Dallas that have huge appliances and crap piled up along the sides.

someone straight up dumped a huge pile of old tires on the airline service road between Alco and cedarcrest. They’ve been there a week now

You'd think the DOTD could simply have a crew of about 3 people whose job is to simply drive around all day in a truck and pick up stuff like this

Lazy politicians. Houston has become just as bad.

Not to let them off the hook, but I don't think they're the ones tossing beer cans and Racetrac cups out the car window.

Trash people tend to leave trash in their wake.

I can't remember the last time I've seen someone throw trash out the car window, but I consistently see trash blow out the top of moving garbage trucks.

This.

In EBR there are prison work crews that pick up trash along Hwy 61 between I-110 and the EBR landfill. Every week they generate a giant pile of trash that they stack in orange bags, usually around Plains-Port Hudson Rd to be picked up by a truck and brought to the landfill. All of this trash they pick up is trash flying off the trucks on their way to the landfill.

Many Louisianians have no pride in their environment. It’s been happening for decades. It typically goes unnoticed for a lot of people until they leave the state and come back to realize the dump we live in.

So no matter how much people want to bitch about trash down here, it is everywhere.

Sure, there is trash everywhere, but not near the level that it is in much of the south. Nowhere close to Colorado, or Washington. And people aren't afraid to call litterers out in an aggressive manner out there.

A few comments:

I pick up trash frequently on Highland Rd not far from LSU. Most common trash? Cane’s & Chick fil a. Cans, cans, cans

Lately I’ve seen whole bags of garbage on Highland Rd. What’s up with that?

At least Baton Rouge has volunteer groups that try to keep the trash picked up. Bless them.

Culture is it.
