A) it’s the same industry. You know, apples to apples and all if talking about standard fee structures.

B) I’ll sign contracts on probably about $400k of overnight lodging this week alone. So it’s also a field that i feel pretty comfortable discussing.

C) I utilize both Airbnb and hotels personally on the regular

I think something was lost on you, but I don’t think it’s what you thought it was

Your argument:

*AirBNB should be more transparent with all of their hidden fees.
*Hotels ALSO have hidden fees but since I have tremendous experience with hotels I'm aware of them.
*AirBNB needs to be more like hotels.
*obviously can't speak from experience on buying a car, signing a contract for a cell phone, or paying taxes so just gonna ignore that.

fyi...no one gives a shite about your experience in booking hotel rooms for your monkeypox parties. The point still remains. Every industry has hidden fees and they differ(some more than others) from one place to the next.

oh sweet jesus.....I accidentally engaged an argument with an absolute idiot.

Never mind. Ignore everything I've said thus far. Please....continue showing the world how your mind works. I won't disturb that process anymore.

Taxes and fees are always like that.

On the cheap airlines the air fare is the cheapest part. It’s the taxes and bags cost more.

Part of the fun of Airbnb is cleverly devising ways to contact the owner offsite to book a room for cheaper.

Would love to hear more details on this.

One night for an air bnb is doing it wrong. And this is why. But you think you are being lied to.

You need to relax man.

His point was that when you search for a place to stay on AirBnB, the rates charged by the owners for cleaning etc. vary quite a bit, which forces you to do extra work when comparing prices. It would be very easy for AirBnB to resolve that, which would improve their user experience.

When you book hotel rooms it’s not as much of an issue because most of the “hidden” fees are roughly the same at all of your options, so you at least have a somewhat close comparison when you’re shopping, even if you know that the final number will be higher for all options.

You seem really bent out of shape over a fairly benign observation.

It's quite literally one extra click. Are you guys really that lazy to where one mouse click is this big of an inconvenience?

I think you might want to make more of a fuss for them to post how many steps it takes to get from your car to the door if this is such a major problem for you.

Everyone is focused on the cleaning fees which vary widely as I've seen some cleaning fees for 200 for a property to low of 35. It's all the other fees that get me, was recently looking for a week stay and found a place at 160 a night, whole home.... it had a 115 cleaning fee 85 airbnb fee, 35 occupancy fee, 100 pet fee, and something else for 25.

You dont save much money when staying for a night. The fees are the fees whether you stay a night or a month. If yiu stay for a week you also get a weekly discount from most hosts.

Sometimes you reach out directly to the owner and get around AirBnB and their bullshite. Always search the property address after you find a place you like just to see if it shows up on other rental services.

VRBO Is better than AirBnB imo
