Women do this because in the moment of conversation with Jessica they are just aiming to please Jessica without thinking at all about what you want.

Then when they realize they likely screwed up, they dont want the reprecussions of telling you, so they wait till the last minute to spring it on you.

Hell no.

Don’t make excuses. She’s in the wrong not you.

Tell her that if you weren’t party to the agreement you aren’t obligated to help her friend.

If she wants to help her move, great.

If she wants your help she can consult you ahead of time or try to bargain with you for something you want…

As soon as you feel the need to make excuses for spending your time you’ve set a precedent.

1,000,000 upvotes. I reposted the whole thing since we flipped to the third page.

Your GF is supposed to consider her direct blood relatives needs first, then yours. When you get married (please don't) this swaps.

Realize she's putting these people, and the social "credit" that women love before your needs, wants and desires. Schedule a therapy session, do not buy a ring.

That’s a “you” problem there, Scooter.

I simply wouldn’t go if WE hadn’t discussed it earlier.

I wouldn’t do the reverse to her either.

You need to sack up and tell her to consult you before booking you/your time.

My wife does the opposite…she tries to guard my time off knowing I need to decompress and time to do what I want to when I’m not working…she will always ask if I want to do something and is seldom upset if I say no…because of her approach, I say yes to a lot of it if I think it’s important to her.

The great thing about being a catfish farmer is I can always come up with an excuse to have to be at work to avoid going to something I don’t want to.

She goes alone and I ride around the farm and drink beer and listen to music

That's the opposite of the OP. OP's GF DGAF about him, or his time.

Communication is probably more important than money in terms of the cause of divorces. I would posit that most money conversations are borne from shitty commo first.

For a woman's small less technical brain the man is utilitarian at best.

Reminds me of the curb your enthusiasm where they go to dinner and argue with who's money they are spending lol
