I see from your bio that you reside in Boston, MA... Would you agree that the electorate of Boston and Massachusetts are smarter and elect better people than that of New Orleans and Louisiana?

Not quite sure what answer you’re looking for here....

I think he's asking if the citizens of Boston elect more competent politicians than Nola does

Yeah, I understand the question. Just not quite sure where he’s going with this argument.

He’s also asking if I think the voters of the area are smarter than those in New Orleans.

Also, I’m not sure what Boston has to do at all with the issue posited in this thread.

Oh please. You live in Stonebridge. You Live there to avoid the Nola culcha. Don’t even pretend otherwise. Get off your high horse. If Nola was such a fabulous place, you yourself would actually live in it.

It has been on a decline for decades. Along comes Katrina, an opportunity to reinvent, and BOOM....the descent into the abyss continues unabated. Place is a Grade A DUMP

I think most would say the city is better now than it's been in at least 30 years.
Of course things should be better and the city fails at so much, but let's be honest with where it is.

I just find it ironic that it’s always the out-of-towners who complain about the City smelling like a sewer.. The very same out-of-owners who come here to visit, are unable to handle their liquor, and then proceed to piss and vomit in the streets.........

Nola has added so much in just the past three years

Rooftop bars. Restaurants. Hotels. Climbing gyms. Bike trails. Etc.

Once Burboun St gets repaved it's going to look pretty sharp too.

It still has plenty of issues but denying it's progress is pure hatred or delusion

Granted, I'm older than most in here and am a native of Orleans parish...she is but a shell of her prior ways. She once possessed a charm second to none or maybe it was a simpler time then

And the people of New Orleans continue to elect idiots that make it worse and worse.

It seems to follow that constantly electing Democratic politicians is the root cause....Detroit, Chicago, Baltimore, and on and on! Democrats have learned long ago how to pull the wool over certain people,s eyes so they can stay in power. (Cities and this country be damned!!!

Could be/should be a great city with a great culture to build on, but unfortunately like too many cities the local government has neglected the basics (police, fire, garbage, streets, etc.) and diverted precious resources to frivolous things and their friends.

It's a shame too, New Orleans could be a shining star in La.
