Why do so many of you dislike Leesville

Its a boring place. And not where I would prefer to live or work.
But is it really worse than other very small towns
I figure it is because the soldiers have nothing to do (which is true)

For being such a small town, they do have a great variety of Asian restaurants.

BC I dated a guy from there for 5 years in college, and went most weekends. Not much to do. Too many pine trees. Never went to the Pink Pegasus, or whatever it's called. And DeRidder is in a dry Parish next door, right?

Cecil Collins may have something to do with it?

Pink Lady is basically a dead bar.
Pegasus Lounge is a strip club. Its where the soldiers prefer to go.
And yeah, Beauregard is still dry ( that I know of)

Deridder isn't dry anymore. Although they don't sell on Sundays.
To expand on the question... I'm from deridder. There's not much to do anywhere around there. Leesville just seems dirty. it's like the other poster said, "The gateway to Toledo bend" is basically what I use it for. Just driving right through. Although one of the last times I went home I was roped in to going out in leesville & ended up having a blast

I hear there is a hibachi place that is surprisingly good considering where it is located.
Other than that, I couldn't tell you the first thing about Leesville.

A small town, where the gas stations still allowed you to "keep a tab" and pay at the end of the month.
They split the town with two lane roads, one way, with infrastructure in the middle. There were still old people driving the wrong way, bc they rememered the old roads.
