My dad passed 9yrs ago of Hep C related issues. He was a combat medic in Vietnam and injured in combat himself. I'm suspecting they didn't use personal protective equipment in the jungles of Nam.

Sadly, he went on to donate a lot of blood. He always organized the church blood drives in the 80s. At some point when they started testing donors, he received a letter that he had Hep C and could no longer donate. He went on to get treatments that were ultimately not successful. He's just one case and I can only imagine the exponential effect of donors who went undetected.

Don't buy that IV drug shite it is total bullshite. Yes u can get help c but most herion addicts die from other causes within a few years of addiction.

The answer is the same as why there are no 50-60 old hemophiliacs. They didn't test for it in 80s and much of 90s so the blood supply was totally contaminated. If u got a lot of blood in this time period u probably have hep C. If u fricked someone that was in bad car wreck, or had surgery in this time period that required a lot of blood u probably have Hep C.

That's a lot of boomers

Except that it's projected at only about 1 in 30. This is roughly 3%-not exact major epidemic it is made out to be.
