quote:
Mother-in-law from my first marriage was a psychopath and i didn't know it until a few months after she was caring for my two toddlers. When I found out what she did to one of my children I came close to killing her. My children and I were never in her presence again. I hope she is burning in hell for eternity!!!
I know.right?

I've never hit...not even raised a finger towards a woman in my life. But, if it happened, that at a "family" dinner... the lights went out... for juuuust a second... and I was close enough to get in a clean shot... my ex-mother-in-law would be laid out cold when the lights came back on.

These aren't inlaws of mine, but I have a similar story.
Cliff Notes:
Parents have 2 kids. One is living "normal" life (40's age) and they basically ignore her and her family. Other kid is total loser, why he isn't in jail I have no clue. Parents are self employed, and they have him on staff, where he makes easily 6 figures. Father makes half mil a year. They have tried business start ups for him, bought houses, and he squanders it all away, I suspect on gambling, etc.

My In laws are great people. I wouldn't have married their daughter if they weren't. They are a farming family so my FIL bust his arse all day every day (except Sunday) and outside of my father, I respect him more than anyone. I worked for my FIL while in high school and he was/is the most even keeled man I've ever seen. He taught me a lot about mechanics since I was always breaking his stuff lol. My MIL is just a sweet lady who raised a great daughter and dotes over my kids.
The one piece of advice I give young baws is to really think about what type of family you're marrying into. Your potential wife was raised by those people and could bring whatever baggage they have into your marriage....of course there are exceptions, but the apple usually doesn't fall far from the tree.
