Why do clothes brands have to get all cutesy with naming the fit on their clothes?

Take Brooks Brothers. The 'Madison Fit.' The 'Regent Fit.' What the frick does that even mean without consulting a chart?

I think it was target a few years back that had a dress and in the regular fit the color of the dress was "dark heather grey" and in the plus size model it was "manatee grey".
