Didn't want to get shot or robbed.

I either spend $5 grand to fly in and ride in Endymion or take my wife and new daughter to Ireland. Decided to take a break from MG this year. Will be back on the float next year.

Work.
Otherwise I'd be at Bacchus or in the 1/4 enjoying life.

ride in Endymion

is it worth it? i mean, the experience and all...

i've been asked/invited to ride a couple of times, and i'm not a huge mardi gras person, so i've politely declined in the past, but i was just curious as to if it would be worth it just for the one time experience....

Been skipping it for about 20 years. Grew up going so it got old at some point.
I still like it tho. Glad to know people are having fun and enjoying themselves even if I don't participate

opposite for me, My first Mardi Gras since 2011. I usually go on a vacation this time of year, but have a convention in Miami next week and couldn't do both.

I love it. My issue is the cost to travel back to New Orleans to ride. Tacks on about another $2,000 to my dues and beads. That doesn't include food and rinks.
