Why can’t we build hospitals like China did for the Corona outbreak?

This may be a stupid question but why can’t the US do this if the hospitals are being overloaded because of the virus? China built 2 in 2 weeks. They don’t have to be permanent, just a MASH unit to help things out. I’m assuming it’s because of a shortage of equipment like ventilators.

Have you ever seen the building codes required for a hospital? Unless you mean more akin to a military field hospital.

You're gonna need about 29 permits, and the issuing agencies are closed due the Corona.

They flipped the PMAC and Fieldhouse into a military field hospital in about 24 hours following Katrina.
My hope is they have plans to do this in critical areas to treat non/less emergent people.

Because they don’t have lawyers just waiting to file a lawsuit if the motherfricker collapses, bursts into flames, causes a measles outbreak, hurts somebody’s feelings, doesn’t have gender neutral restrooms, hasn’t been tested for asbestos, or if a minority isn’t the first person treated, etc....
