Why not ? It's a cool place where you can have adventure ? People all over the world and see things from other planets and continents

I'd like to hear some examples of adults being obsessed with Disney World.
Did something happen to trigger this post?
I think most people get excited about going because it's such a one of a kind place with the service, attn to detail, etc.
It's a nice break from the mundane.

There's way too much butthurt in here. I didn't condemn anyone who ever enjoyed a trip to Disney World. I asked why some adults where obsessed with it. Like multiple trips per year, some trips without the kids, etc. fricking weirdos.

We went several years ago and will have to go again b/c our youngest was only 2 when we went. I am dreading it. It is my personal idea of hell. I hate the crowds, I hate the fact that you have to plan everything out in order to feel like you are making the most of your time (and money!). I hate waiting in the lines. I thought the food sucked and everything was overpriced. I really don't see the attraction.
That being said, we tend to vacation at outdoorsy places with activity--state and national parks in our RV, hiking, lake vacations, skiing, etc. One of the families we vacation with a lot makes the strong distinction between people who prefer Disney vacations to those who do things that are more our style. Disney people want to know exactly what they are going to get. They want fun in a controlled and predictable environment.
I don't see anything wrong with that, but it isn't my style and I don't understand how people can find that place relaxing. At the same time, I can see how people find the uncertainty and planning involved in my type of vacation to be stressful.

I'm not obsessed with it but it's cool to see my 5 yr old child so excited. It's crowded and everything but I don't mind it at all.

I ain't gonna lie, you sound pretty butthurt and weird worrying about what other adults choose to do with their own time. I mean why does it really matter to you. Are you a hipster or something?

I still don't know what a hipster is. I'm pretty sure people who use the word hipster all the time are closer to being one than I am.

We love it cause it's frickin awesome- we love it, our kids love it, experience is incredible, service is awesome, food is great, and morons like you aren't there.

It would be an interesting experience on acid.

I'm not obsessed with it, but if you can't enjoy yourself as an adult in Disney world, then there's something wrong with you as a person.
I'd just as easily say if you'd spend thousands of dollars to stand in a line, follow some strict formulaic schedule and hangout in some weird fantasy land then there's something wrong with you as a person.
I don't get it. I don't really care where folks go for vacation, but I'm with the OP. Adults who go to Disney are fvcking weirdos. My aunt and uncle go every year (no kids), so weird. They're normal as hell outside of that, but damn it's weird.

Coming from the guy whining about other people's vacation plans- who's the sensitive Sally here?
Posted on 4/26/15 at 9:50 pm to Casty McBoozer
I don't have time for this Disney fantasy world bullshite. It cuts out of my professional wrestling and Game Of Thrones time.

Why do people go on cruises every year? Why do so many go to the beach every year? Why do so many people go sit in Tiger Stadium every fall? What prompts people to act like morons on a message board?
