All professions (sports for example) that publicize their income/contracts only benefits the employee. It drives up salaries and everyone makes more money. Stop being brainwashed by ‘the man’.

I was interning once and some guy in accounting mistakenly sent company budget information to everyone. He accidentally replied to all I guess. Anyway, he got fired and there was a lot of shite that went down, but when the dust settled those underpaid and deserving ended up getting big raises when normally wouldn’t have.

If you appear to be to be poor you might be spared during a peasants uprising

at least that’s my excuse and I’m sticking to it

For the reason you cited... Companies don’t pay everyone the same and shouldn’t have to imo.

Mine is public knowledge if you know where to look, so I don't hide anything.

Because it spreads jealousy, and discontent exactly as you gave an example of. And because quite honestly, it’s just none of your business. Put your nose down and work harder.

Because its none of your goddamn business.

If someone goes into a neighborhood and decides to rob a house.. which one are they going to rob? The one that looks like it has then most valuables or the house that looks modest that might seem to not have many valuables in it?

That's why you don't go around telling people your salary.

A better measure of a persons financial status is their credit report.

There is a direct correlation between stress, and quality of life and debt to income ratio.

People need to learn to prioritize.

Money is dirty, it’s why we usually avoid talking about it.

Company's do not want you to talk about it because it gives you leverage when negotiating. Imagine all those poor souls they couldn't pay 10-20% less than someone equally qualified if all salary was discussed and easily accessible. Keep your nose down and work harder until your old and overpriced and laid off.

Here's the actual reason you shouldn't discuss your salary. Where does this money come from?

What a legend. I hope those who got big raises remembered their hero.

My Dad had his own company and paid everyone pretty well but his policy was that employees would not discuss/compare pay, and it was a termination level offense.

My salary sucks. Now, when you add in the commission it’s ! In sales we all openly discuss compensation. It’s part of the game.

All workers aren't equal. To publicize salaries only causes drama.
