Apparently it is like building a fire in your backyard and cooking out. Only you rent the house or cabin. ie camping with running water, climate control and soft beds.

Can anyone suggest a place within a 4 hour driving radius that fits this description?
Colorado Rockies. Inside of 2 hours once you fly into Denver. Enjoy the get away and you're welcome.

Lake Fausse Point has cabins that I hear are very nice.

The new cabins at Chicot are very nice. I hope they put more of them in, some of the ones that were added in the 70s are in horrible shape.

Lake West Point, Ga. southeast of Atlanta on Ala state line. Lake Lanier, Ga. north of Atlanta. Take the drive.

Bogue Chitto is LAs newest state park. Opened in 2011? Idk if you can beat the views at Chicot but the hiking trail at bc is great and they have the best cabins.
