Some friends and I are looking to rent a place to go upscale camping with the wives. We're not really looking to pitch a tent. We're just looking to get out of the city for two or three days where we can fish, build a fire, have a few too many cold ones without having to drive home.

Can anyone suggest a place within a 4 hour driving radius that fits this description? Im open to all suggestions and I appreciate your help.

Chicot is the only answer. Nice cabins and they shouldn't be booked this time of year.

Beavers Bend, because I went there more than two decades ago and I don't know what camping is besides the Army.

Not sure where you're located, but my sister's family goes to Broken Bow, OK a couple of times a year. They love the place. The cabins are really nice and each one has a hot tub.

Deluxe cabins at Chicot, Fausse Point, Tickfaw - any of the state parks

South Toledo Bend or Grand Isle SP if you and your buddies want to hop over to one of the private marinas and rent a boat to go fishing.

Lake is dry. Not that it matters this time of the year... Looks like crap though.
