They have some super slick deals plus one way flights. One way flights got me interested, friends said for a few hours it's good enough. What you guys think?

It's not bad. But if you're planning on checking a bag or having a bag that needs to go in the overhead, you can add $40-$60 more to the ticket price.

Going to Vegas for 40 hours next week. Not packing anything.
Paid less than $100 for the flight.
Works for me.

Used it for my trip from Denver to Phoenix and it was fantastic. Packed my clothes in my laptop bag. Like $67 or something like that... Round trip.

This thread comes up once a month.
Summary:
1. Smallest seats in the industry
2. Least comfortable seats on your arse as they are the hardest in the industry
3. Nickel and dime you on bags, but if you read their bag policy, you won't be surprised by the fees.
Conclusion: If it is a 2 hour flight, the cramped conditions and poor seat are worth saving a hundred or couple of hundred bucks for most.
If you are flying more than 2 hours, your arse and legs will be hurting so you have to decide how much the discomfort is worth.

You get on a plane and they fly you somewhere. As long as you don't have unreasonable expectations, you'll be happy. Just understand that you're not getting the red carpet experience when you pay 1/2 the price

I used it once for a weekend trip to Nola. Only had a backpack, printed my own ticket, etc. so it ended up being a good deal. I wouldn't recommend for anything besides a quick trip.
If you're tall, consider getting a seat with extra leg room.

I go to vegas every other month or more. It's a 4.5 -5 hr flight. I pay the extra 200-250 every time now to fly jetblu or american. I flew spirit the first 3-4 times than said frick it, never again after flying jetblu once.

Flew from Pensacola to Tampa to Fort Lauderdale to Key West for a bachelor party. Flight had no AC, drinks or bathroom. Crew and booking folks didn't show up until flight was ready to go but we got where we wanted with no issues. I did hear some fliers complaining about lost luggage.
Not sure I'd trust it for business or when checking luggage

Yeah, don't fly Spirit for a flight over 3 hours, and give yourself extra time for delays (haven't flown Spirit without a delay on one of the legs).

Like others have said, it is fine for 2 hours or less. They do a la carte pricing on everything, so you are just buying your seat and everything else costs. Instead of putting it into the ticket price, they charge for what you use.
It is fine, but I'm not hard to please

I flew Spirit about a month ago. It was fine, no frills but no problems at all. They nickel and dime you to death, but if you know that going in and plan accordingly it shouldn't be any problem.

I'm fine with Spirit because I tend to pack light and can amuse myself for a 1-3 hour flight.
However, be careful taking them if time is an issue. Their on-time performance is really poor, and my gf refuses to take them because she's... female (not patient).

Talking about in time issues, I had a day and a half delay with them that was their fault and they refused pay for a hotel room or anything, just told me they would get me on a flight as soon as they could which ended up being 36 hours later. That was the last time I flew them. No voucher, nothing.

The main problem us that they usually only have one flight a day to most cities and if they have to delay your flight it's hard to get another and connect.

I've taken it on a weekend trip to Vegas and had nothing but a backpack. Worked for me. Round trip was like $142 direct out of IAH.
Only issues I've heard is that they don't have a lot of flights so if something happens to yours it can be hell because their customer service sucks.

The planes are older/outdated. Flew to Vegas and back with them. Wasn't the worst flight I have been on. As stated above, plan on paying an extra $50+ if you're checking a bag

Flights to Chicago are dirt cheap and its 2.5 hrs, so I don't really care about the actual plane ride, but more importantly its direct.

Flying them to the V.I.s in August. They better have their shite together.

Cheap airline, only have a small bag with you and you are fine.
