Father Martin at STM Catholic Church growing up.

Father Jerry Martin?? I'm not even Catholic and I know of him. I have been to a couple of masses that he presided over and I loved his homilies...he always found a way to bring LSU sports into it somehow.

He's dead, but I think AW Tozer is the best there was.

Why is everyone Catholic?

I'm not, I have a bunch of great Pastor/Preacher's I've heard. Too many great ones to name honestly. The hopeful aspect for me, is that I know a few men who show me everyday, that living 100% for Jesus is more than possible. Even in the terrible world we live in today.

I went to The Ring a few times with the now head coach of Walker a few years back. Enjoyed it.

Does anybody watch the Christian channels when high? Some of them are better than HBO series - they're incredibly entertaining

Fr. Greg Daigle is the best

one of the best ever & he could have sung opera professionally.......Always went to Christmas Eve Mass in Lakeland

Didn't know he had moved to St John Parish

Monsignor Daniel Becnel at St Aloysius way back in the day did a great job keeping the kids involved too.

Ok not Catholic, but he did a wedding I went to recently in New Orleans. We were sitting there and he walked to the piano, and started singing Ave Maria incredibly. Majority of the audience was pleasantly surprised. He was pretty hilarious at the Rehearsal Dinner as well.

He could tell funny stories. They had a music director who was a Tide fan. The Sunday morning services after games were pretty funny as a lot of ribbing went on.

Do you still attend parkview?

I basically quit. I still go for like Christmas and Easter but ever since a bunch of the leadership went to healing place I quit going. I don't go to healing place either though

I remember he came and spoke once at the Ring I believe and gave a pretty funny story about walking around naked when his kids were away and his wife's reaction. His wife was pretty hot for having 5 kids as well.

Yeah after I saw this thread I googled him to see if he was even still alive. Saw that he and his wife just celebrated their 60th wedding anniversary

Last I heard he was at a church in Prairieville, not sure if still there... his daughter turned out hot, I ran into her at the Bulldog once.

Twenty 49 if you live in Shreveport and haven't given The Simple Church a try....do yourself a favor and do it...you won't be bored. Our pastor and founder of the church is an awesome guy(was my next door neighbor for 10 years before he moved this past summer). We've got a 9:00/10:00/11:00 service at the Shreveport Convention Center. A couple of live songs to start out with from our band and message of about 35-40 minutes using quite a few video clips that tie into his message. Go a couple times and see what you think....very, very casual dress. LINK

Good choice. Relationship with him goes way back but has been distant for many years.

My choice, Lea Joyner from Monroe.
