The judge won't let her just steal the money

My ex during the divorce signed a LEGAL document at Chase bank removing her from our joint account. three weeks later she found some old checks of ours with her name on it.

Wrote $700 in checks. I took the canceled checks, the document she signed at Chase with a witness, and went to the police department b/c that was felony check fraud.

What you think they told me?

Honestly don't be the nice guy. There is a reason she took that money out you will not see it again. Remember alot of these judges don't give a shite you are a dime a dozen to them. Next time she takes something out without permission you call her arse out say hell no we will wait until an agreement is reached legally. Good luck

Let's play "guess who's fricked"!

I'll give you a hint: it rhymes with "Opie".

Banks can easily verify the amount of money in the bank as of a given date. That is what the settlement will be based on.

Now, if she "spends" it and allegedly cannot pay you, it might take a fight (lawsuit) to get it.

First one to the money wins in a joint account during a divorce. My Lawyer taught me that. I was lucky!

Joint account, meaning both of yours. She moved first... sorry man but its gone.

I'd be floored if the judge made her pay you.

The money is gone because it is no longer in your communal property.

it is HER property.

and thats before the judge decides how "fair' they will be to you by letting you keep a little of your stuff...then write her a check every fricking month.

Your responses and posts in this thread show that you have absolutely no idea what you're in for.
Women are vindictive psychotic snakes in the grass and the American Divorce court system rewards and incentivises them to be so.

No court will award that money to you.

Absolute best case scenario is when you are decreed to pay spousal support the money she stole will just be the first few months payments.

You needed an attorney yesterday.

Be sure to go back into the bank account and print off the balance the day that you filed for divorce. This was part of joint assets, and you need to have record of that. Since she took possession of all of the money, she will be responsible for any associated interest on the money that it accrues until you are made whole.

I can tell you why, b/c the Judge don't have time for this he said she said bullshite and proving anything in a comingled account is a nightmare and way too expensive unless you had like 100k in there.
