And what was your best memory?
Mine was riding the Wild Maus.

Old people.

I am old and plan to get older. Isn't that the general overall plan?

Yeah.

I'm just jealous about never experiencing it and every time you old folk start talking about it I get hit in the feels.

That thing was crazy. It seemed pretty tame just looking at it but it lived up to its name.

I was literally the last person to leave Pontchartrain Beach the night it closed. True Story.

Went as a 10 year old kid. Mom walked us in, saw the collection of white trash hill billies and walked us right back out. Never went back.

I don't remember it, but my Dad has a picture of my mom holding me when we were there. I was just an infant so, it was the summer of '81. Can't see any rides or anything, just mom holding her infant son on the sand.

My friend's step dad had some kind of ownership stake in the property and the new condos that were proposed. We were there all day and after everything was shut down and dark later that night we were walking around, pretty eerie and cool. We walked through the haunted house ride etc...

Anyway his step dad literally locked the chain and padlock on the gate and as we left I made it a point to let them step out first so I'd be the final customer.

Old people.

Yep, I made it and plan on making it even farther.

I remember the Wild Mouse. Isn't that the ride they moved to Fun Fair Park?

It closed down not long after I was born, so I never went. My folks did though back in the 60's and 70's.

I do remember the D-Day reenactment that had there in 1994, which was really cool. As the Americans pushed the krauts back, they ended up doing house to house fighting in some of the park's old abandoned buildings.

Did you ever go to Lincoln Beach? It had long been closed but I went exploring a couple times by boat with my dad.

I remember a huge arse ransacked swimming pool and then various buildings all in ruin and graffiti etc. Pretty cool to walk around there.
