I thought people built up a tolerance to that stuff real quick. Has your doctor said anything about that?

Ritalin. I take it during the day, it wears off and I sleep better at night.

I either take 2 nyquil or 2mg of melatonin every fricking night. It sucks. I have tried to go to sleep without for a week at a time and I always end up staying awake most nights. For whatever reason, once everyone in the house is sleeping (wife and kids) my brain goes into high gear.

Ambien sucks. When you do finally doze off you get about 7 hours of lackluster sleep and feel groggy the next day. I'd do anything for a klonopin/xanax/valium script

I have a different opinion about Ambien. One of the best drugs I have ever taken. I drift off to sleep quickly, and can get 6 or 7 hours of great sleep. I feel no after effects the next day. I try to skip as many days as possible to ward off a tolerance to the drug.

Because of allergies and sinus issues, I use a CPAP. Before my sleep study and CPAP days, my apnea would have me up and down at night. On Ambien I would stagger and bump into walls on the way to the bathroom. Scary stuff.

Ive been through the rough patch in life where you stay up all night. It takes its toll. Took all the sleeping pills and benzos too and they are a bandaid at best. I now and have for a few years sleep like a baby with none of that. What worked for me. Workout/ exercise hard during the early part of the day. Wear yourself out. Take a magnesium supplement. Dont procrastinate on projects or work. Get your shite done and move on so you dont dwell on it. Not preaching but get right with the man above and give your worries over to him. Good luck sleepy heads

My sleep aid is regular exercise, work, my wife's stories, and a glass of Pinot. Sleep like a fricking baby if all four occur in one day.

How does she sleep?

I can fall asleep at a concert, but the GF gets up throughout the night, plays on her phone, turns on the tv, etc. She claims that once awake, she needs to watch tv or something to get tired again. She just ends up watching tv for 2 hours, it enrages me for the 5 minutes it takes me to go back to sleep.

50 mg of generic benadryl (same thing as some unisom)
2 fingers of Macallan
4 or 5 pages of a book

I am in a coma.

Often add in some indica as well.

ETA:

Benadryl actually helps me in two ways: to sleep and to prevent allergies from acting up when my 70 lb dog lays next to my face every night.

I take 2-3 "Melatonin + 200mg L-theanine" if I'm not drinking and that works nicely. They're the bottles with a blue top, only like $15 for 60 liquid gels at Walgreeens.

Good advice. I had trouble falling askeep in high school because my mind would race. Now I stay constantly busy, try to move a little every day, say my prayers, and I'm out like a light. Never have trouble falling asleep and rarely wake up during the night. Usually wake up before 9AM on weekends. I just wish my dreams weren't so vivid.

Nothing helps me sleep. I eventually fall asleep on my own. But, I don't sleep very much. If I get 6 hours, it's a miracle.
