I'm on day 3 and it's the worst thing ever. Wife's a nurse and wants to take me to hospital. How long does it last?

Usually just lasts a few days.

How do you know you have norovirus? There are many other things that can cause similar stomach upset. They tested your stool?

Gotcha. Hope you feel better. If your wife is a nurse and wants you to go to the hospital.....I would listen to her. She likely wants you to get an iv bolus of fluids and some iv zofran(if you have been vomiting non stop)....which both will make you feel soooo much better.

Yes. It was horrible. I ended up going to an outpatient clinic and getting an IV which helped a lot.

I had it about 4-5 weeks ago. I get sick at most once a year and hadnt got stomach bugs in while The only two stomach viruses that I have really had in the past 12 years were fought off in 48 hours. The one from 4-5 weeks ago lasted 5 days.

I had fever at the beginning, then stayed in the bathroom. By day 3, I said screw it and got off the bland food diet. I was so hungry that I had to try something else. Everything that I eat will come out of me in 30 minutes anyway so why not eat some high calorie food that might help me lose less weight? I lost a few lbs that week regardless. I was drinking tons of water and vitamin water to avoid the hospital too. I doubt eating alot by day 3 helped, but I definitely had more energy.

My wife had it for 7 days about 3 years ago. She could barely stand by the end of the week.

My oldest got it at 6 weeks old. The scariest and most intense couple of days in my life.

Y'all end up in the hospital? We get lots of babies and toddlers that get admitted with norovirus or other stomach bugs, most just admitted for iv fluids for a day or two. It's scary how quick their little bodies can get severely dehydrated.

Children's hospital in NOLA. They were great.

When they tried to do a spinal tap, it took them an hour with 2 huge residents trying to hold her still. She was a little ball of muscle. A nurse came out about every 15 minutes to apologize. It was fricking brutal.

I bet. I hate having to help hold for those. Dehydration makes it more difficult to do the spinal tap as well.
