A girl that I "dated" in 8th grade was murdered last year. I was friends with her throughout high school, it was a weird feeling.

why is that the right thing? It might end up being ridiculously awkward, especially if the ex had a new man and they hadn't communicated in years.

Dated this girl my junior and senior year of HS.
We break up when I leave for college.

The next year she and her little 8 yo sister got hit head on by another driver. Both of them died immediately. It was a terrible terrible experience.

Its his choice....I am sure IF there was a new man In her life the dude would understand.... If my ex-wife passed I would go... I rarely talk to her but I would go cause its just the right thing to do.. The family actually respects me more since we have been separated more than they did when we were together......... My ex- MIL is a saint and I would go ....

This chick I was banging in Dallas on the reg(I met her from Yahoo Personals in the late 90s). She brought her guy friend one time. We DP'd her and had fun. Nice dude. He OD'd on heroin the next week. That was eery feeling.

I haven't however, I recently found out that my High School sweetheart has had cancer twice. She has had a full mastectomy and a hysterectomy. It really saddened me to hear that news. She was a great girlfriend who I have often thought about as being the one who I let slip away.

We broke up because I accepted a scholarship to attend LSU and she stayed in Florida.

An ex of mine passed away of some complications from bronchitis/pnemounia over 10 years ago. We were never super serious but we were close friends afterwards before drifting apart.

Was pretty surreal for me.

A buddy of mine had an ex that went batshit a few years after they separated. She hooked up with a guy, and they ended up molesting a teen and recording it. After they were featured on America's Most Wanted, they drove to the Arizona desert and committed suicide together.

Had a good friend with very good benefits die in a car accident about 15 yrs ago.

She left behind a husband and a 2 yr old child.

We hadn't been together for a few yrs at that point, but I absolutely had to pay my respects, and shake hands with her husband who didn't know who I was at all.

She had published a few articles in scientific journals in her graduate school program and was destined for med school.

Such great potential, gone in an instant.

You can't help but miss people like that.
