Use passport max in the daily drivers. I like the camera functions and it's not hyper sensitive like the v1.

Use v1 and a set of laser jammers in the fast car. The v1 is very sensitive but it works well. I've only been shot with laser once and I wasn't speeding, the laser jammer did go off and I saw the cop messing with his gun so I guess it worked. Gotta say I wasn't used to that noise in my car and about shite my pants when it went off.

Escort Max 2. Cost $600. Not cheap, but has saved my arse countless times. Also have a V1 sitting around somewhere. Got tired of all the stores in the area setting it off.

what separates the v1 from the rest for me is the arrows. I like knowing where the threat is coming from.

I used to have a valentine 1 but I gave it to my mom as I drive a jeep now. I just use waze and still speed everywhere.

Buy a v1 with the updated firmware, it's the best.

Nothing can really stop you from laser so more than anything its just good timing and luck.

You also most likely aren't driving 90+ on the highway every day

I have one and a laser jammer, and I only have to be worried about instant-on radar (which I can pick up ahead of time occasionally). I know where cops hang out, so I pay extra attention there. I can say that it takes a while to be able to read what the detector is telling you. Like a year to be good at it.

V1 that needs to be updated to stop all of the alerts from radar cruise controls, and a Laser Interceptor Quad (all 4 on front). I have them turned off when I'm in New Orleans, but I turn them on everywhere else. Drive the Causeway every other day, and I still enjoy getting alerts 5 miles away

I have X turned off, and K set to make noise once it gets to 4 lights. Ka is set to be more sensitive. Also have Ku and Euro mode off

I drive fast (normally 15 over; 15-25 on the interstate) everywhere except in neighborhoods, and I have gotten plenty of tickets

I used a radar detector for years and have to say that it worked very well...instant on radar made it a lot less effective and when speed limits on interstates went to 70 - 75 MPH, I no longer found it useful...

Went ahead and bought the Escort Passport 8500 X50 Radar Detector from Woot ($150 + $5 shipping) because of this thread.

Haven't had a speeding ticket from a police officer in 10+ years so I probably don't need it, but I like the peace of mind as take a lot of long trips.
