I'm talking having a house or condo on the beach in a touristy beach community. I don't think I could. The influx of people coming to town in the spring and staying til after labor day would drive me crazy. If I did it would have to be a very secluded section of the beach that I didn't have be around a bunch of people all the damn time.

Agreed. Living a dream just sounds like such a shitty life.

Me.

But I would probably leave during july and august, unless I was making money somehow off of tourists

I don't even like going down for more than a week. Would much rather live in a mountain/ski town than on a coast.

I almost did. If I were still traveling for work, I'd have a house in Miramar beach right now. S/O wanted me home more than 3 months out the year, though.

They are not all the same, though. It depends on how secluded and expensive it is.

Yes please

ETA: Was in San Clemente, CA all last week and could get used to something like that full time.

If coastal, I'd much prefer the stretch between ~40M N of San Fran all the way to Seattle. But, yeah, West Coast beaches > Eastern and Gulf.

For a time I lived on the beach in Daytona Shores, I could walk out the door and down to the beach. When you are young and single it is lots of fun.

I do. Stay out of Madeira Beach. I like it quiet.

Honestly we probably have about 7-10 years before we are overrun like St Pete and Clearwater.

If you go south, the seasons are the opposite. If it weren't for family, I could absolutely move to St.John tomorrow.

Gulf Breeze, Fla. seems okay and certain parts of Pensacola as well. Ocean City, Maryland is pretty laid back from what I can remember, but the Destins and PCBs and MB are a definite no go. I just think I'd get tired of being done there after a month or so.

What can I say, I like mountains and forests. The coast of Oregon beats the frick out of the weird white sand, condo monstrosity that makes up the Gulf.

I could probably do Port St. Joe, Appalachicola, or one of the NC barrier islands (I love Ocracoke).
