In Public: Wife 100%
In Private after backing her in public: call the wife out on her BS if it is warranted.

Sounds like your wife might be a little too overbearing on you and your mom doesn't like it.

Congrats on being a beta

My mom stays out of my business 100%.

What is your ole lady doing to make your mom tell you to roll out?

Probably your mother and wife, at the same time.

My wife, my mother has lost her marbles. Wife and my mother haven't talked in two years and I want to keep it that way.

My mom and wife get along great. If it came down to it I'd take my mom's side. Wife only digs me deeper into debt, my mom has the cash to get me out of it

Both can be overbearing and too much at times and I hear it from both about the other. Mom says I should leaver her and wife says I should stand up to her.

Sounds like a lot of details are being left out.

Uhh, absent extreme circumstances that's not something a mother should tell her child. That's pretty awful.

So, without knowing more specifics, that's already a black mark against mum as far as who to side with.

Generally, your wife is your partner and should always have your support over anyone else. But if she's plainly out of line then you need to be able to honestly communicate that and try to resolve or move past it.

If Mom is good and just and the wife is a little less stable then it takes a lot of diplomacy to make your wife think you're siding with her even though she's acting crazy and you really want to throw her off a building.
