Friend of mine was a great looking guy, slayer of trim, athletic stud.

Ate about a pound of mushrooms one night and his left eye took a left turn and he developed a twitch. Now he looks like fricking Marty Feldman and rattles around like Michael J. fox.

Did you know: Wade Boggs drank 64 beers on a cross country flight from Boston to LA.

It's pretty hard to fall lower than dating the prettiest girl in high school to selling your body to gays for drug money, having no real relationship with your kids then becoming HIV positive before finally od'ing on heroin.

Drugs are a cruel bitch.

My sister became a prostitute to support her husband's drug habit.

My brother is a crackhead that looks like Charles Manson. He can't hold a job longer than 2 weeks. He stinks god awful too.

Hs friend had it made. His dads accountant stole all the cash, kept bad records, etc. IRS shows up, dads forced to sale equipment to cover backed taxes/fines from excavation business, which causes business and buddy s future source of income to end. Gets hooked on pills, robs his mom of money/tools and mutual Hs friend of 4k in electronics. Busted by friend's cctv. Currently serving 5 yrs in prison.

I don't have anybody. The people I know who ended badly weren't all that well off to begin with.

Kid I knew growing up was that guy - smart enough (not a genius, but not an idiot, either), popular, natural athlete, etc. Came from a very good family - responsible, involved parents, not rich, but very comfortable. The kind of kid that has everything going for him to succeed in life. Sometime his senior year of HS shite started to go sideways (don't know the details, by then we had stopped hanging out). I don't think he made it through a semester of college. Like too many in southern WV, he got hooked on pills, started robbing people (including his own family), did time. His folks did everything humanly and financially possible to help him, for years on end, and he squandered all of it. Last I heard he is still fricking up - I am honestly surprised he hasn't OD'ed or gotten killed yet.

Another guy was a stellar athlete, played for a non-BCS D1 football program, but got drunk and died fricking around at the lake the summer after his freshman year. Just senseless.

Don't have any later-in-life, post college stories. If anything, those are all on the opposite end of the scale - guys who were, if we're honest, pretty big frick-ups in HS/college, but finally grew up and are doing pretty damn well for themselves.

Maybe I dont get it but why was the Father so upset that he went to the extreme to break up his daughters marriage? It's not as if he was a slouch that secretly worked at the Circle K, he had a frickin PhD.

I did some checking and it looks like Chuck landed on his feet. He had to sell his soul to the Devil though. He got hired by Miss St and built a career from there. He got remarried and seems to be very successful.

I could see that fricking up some people, sure. A vindictive exwife and her nasty family with money could make life hard. Sucks that a child is involved.....if true.

Why didn't he just go back to always winning 10's of thousands of dollars with his foolproof blackjack system?

I was basing my story on the situation at the time which looked really bad. Time heals all wounds and it looks like he keep his parental rights and has remarried. She is married to a judge and has had more kids by her second husband. Chuck remarried has more kids by his second wife. Looking back it was crazy at the time but there are always two sides to every story.

Well, that sad luck story turned from shite pretty fast. But good for Chuck.
