The "good family" and emphasis on status is so shallow. Getting a rich girl knocked up is no great accomplishment. The guy who didn't come from such a good family, took care of his business and was smart enough to wear a condom, pick a wife according to her virtues and character is far more worthy of a conversation. This story reaffirms why I hate ole miss and all the feaux southern aristocracy bull shite.

Why would I lend a hand to someone that treated me like trash in a time in my life when I needed help and no one would?
I dug myself out of my own grave. I lifted my own self up. You know what its like to be shite on 24/7 for six years? You know what it's like to have to sit in a class of 20 people while they throw a pity party for someone when their grandmother died and your own parent died a week prior with no one saying a damned thing?
So yeah, it's harsh, it's bitter, but it's not being a bitch.
If I was being a bitch, I would've taken the easy way out 10-11 years ago.

It's not something I really hold in. I was just was forced into remembering it a couple weeks ago when I was hit up for money to pay for my HS reunion. I was expected to pay the full cost for renting a meeting hall in a hotel for like $1200.
I told them to frick off. And in doing so was asked as to why and I spewed out what I wrote verbatim.
It's one of the 3-4 days in my life that drastically changed me and made me stronger.
When you're forced into situations like that you realize no one will care for you until you care for yourself. Also, that those individuals have zero use in your life so it makes it much easier to walk away.

Overcoming obstacles as you have accomplished is very commendable and I apologize for the bitch implication. Being in your situation should give you a better view point of suffering with that knowledge try to help others no matter thow hard it is or hurtful they were. When you do that you have all the power and total healing. Revenge is not sweet or satisfying but peace of mind is.
And yes I do know what it is like. I was poor with a sibling who was sick from birth. I went to a parochial school of mostly affluent kids and heard it all. I see those people today, smile shake their hand and wish them well. Doing otherwise would mean they own me.

Okay, some in here do not know how to play the tape. Let me break it down for you. He claimed to have a grand father who graduated from the Naval academy and to have a trust fund. He was graduating with a PhD in Biology but there are not jobs that will get you a lavish lifestyle with that degree. He could it all: the wife, the life but he got destroyed in a divorce and lost his family.
His in-laws are huge contributors to Ole Miss, so any hope of a job at Ole Miss was gone. I tried to get him to elaborate but all he said was it was horrible. The only time I have ever seen someone like was when someone was talking about being raped or the death of a loved one.

One of my middle school/High school friends got into LSD/DMT psychedelics too much. He's mentally unstable. He thinks everything is fake. Can't hold down a job, thinks were all out to get him, and other weird things. He's only 21 so I just cut him out of my life. Good luck to him, if it were up to me I'd ship his arse to Afghan.
