What a waste of an existence. His main goal is to be self centered so he can be a better basketball player?! Friendship is essential to the soul.

I disagree; his main goal is to be the best BB player and that takes a lot time and focus. I assume the rest of his time is trying to be the best husband/father. I get what he's saying; I don't necessarily like him but I understand.

Getting paid $23,000,000 to play a game. Not so sure I'd call that working in the typical sense of the word.

SO you don't think he has to work? He spends hours shooting jumpers, working out, watching film, forgoing regular stuff to play this "game". The word game is a false flag to throw us off what he really does. He's an employee for a $3bil company that even after paying him $25m a year makes $200m in profit.

Of course it is work, but it is fun work. I would much rather shoot jumpers, work out and watch game film all day than sit at my desk making cold calls.

Yea because he just shows up for the game and plays. He has to practice, workout, study film. Being a high profile players im sure he has to do alot of work for the companies that endorse him and make appearances in L.A. Sounds time consuming, just like work, eh?

This can be a trap people fall in without realizing it. Sometimes people strive to be stellar at their "craft" and it's admirable. It can go too far though.

When you are many years in and all you do is work or think about work it's something else entirely. At that point it's hard to turn it off and go back to being normal.

That's debatable.

If you are already guaranteed a contract worth millions to play by doing the bare minimum, what is to motivate you to shoot 1000 jump shots after practice, or run 5 miles at 4 am, or watch game film at 10 pm?

It is difficult to spend 12 hours/day 7 days a week for 6-7 months on end in an athletic facility training. There is not much that is easy about it, actually.

The problem with your assessment is, most times when that is made, people are equating what someone like Kobe Bryant does as his job with their experience with a sport, ie high school. It is much, much more than that. It becomes work very, very quickly.

He's a different cat. Who are we to say he is living wrong? He's the one that has to die when its time for him to die.

the ones who really work that hard all the time don't have time or care to tell everyone how hard they are working...they also don't have time to rape folks

this is how it feels to me. but if working is what floats his boat, it's hard not to admire his dedication and hard work.
