Too many lunatic, batshit Mormons. I couldn't deal with it and probably would get arrested for calling them out on their ludicrous bullshite.

I've been to Utah many times over the last 20 years and have never had a single encounter with batshit crazy Mormons.

It's a pretty awesome place in my experience. The only bad thing I've seen is the weak arse beer they have to sell in stores.

I definitely agree and got the same vibe when I visited. It is a place that was awesome to visit but maybe not such a great place to live and raise a family.

It's just so small and cliquish. You better be a doctor/attorney or people will look down upon you. Heaven forbid one gets a tattoo or dates outside of the "social circle". People here talk "over tea". Stop acting like you're in fricking London. Especially with the recent tragedies, people think we are hicks and rednecks (a lot of it is true).

Don't get your hate. I have been to almost every state in the union and seen some I liked and some I did not like as much. I have never been anywhere I hated so much I felt the need to go online and badmouth. Guess the poor parenting you experienced is really rearing it's ugly head.

Ohio would have to suck arse.
Meh. Although I don't live there right now, and would never mistake it for one of the best (winter especially), but it's not that bad.

I don't want to be that guy but everyone I have ever met from Ohio has been a huge a-hole. No sense of humor whatsoever. I know you aren't that guy but Jesus Christ I have met some serious douchebags from your state. That said, I would like to visit someday and prove myself wrong.

I felt the same way and I only visited for a short period of time. I can only imagine your experience considering you have lived there.

However, I did love the history and charm of the city as well as the great restaurants and attractive women. It was definitely a beautiful city to visit.

Utah is badass if you love the outdoors. Only been there once but would love to return to visit(we have friends that live outside of SLC). Would love to visit the Big 5 parks there.

To answer the OP....AZ has treated me very well. It's def not for everyone....but living in Scottsdale suits me just fine and being within easy driving distance to so many awesome places is another plus. But yeah....my husband and I would seriously move to Utah if we could both get jobs there.

Stores and bars are required to sell 3.2% ABW beer (4% ABV). Liquor stores can sell anything... Although I've seen higher alcohol content beers on restaurant menus. Not really a big deal since I'm usually drinking whiskey over there anyways.

Nurse, the Mormons would never appreciate you. You deserve better than that.

Their liquor laws regarding serving alcohol in restaurants does suck.

You can only drink if you order food. So no happy hours at a restaurant unless you order food.

Went to the Red Iguana in SLC(everyone raves about that place) and learned that lesson the hard way when I tried to just order a margarita

I honestly cant think of any beers that are 3.2%? Do beer manufacturers make special beers just for Utah? This is the first I've heard of this.

Close access to beaches, mountains, farm land and great job opportunities

My wife and I may be moving to North Carolina soon as she has been offered a job there. I'm currently trying to figure out what I can do there. Nonetheless the access to the mountains and the beach is enticing.

Winston-Salem...we visited there a couple weeks ago and like it a lot. Deciding between there and Jackson, MS as she is likely to be offered there too. We know Jackson well and I'm not personally thrilled about the possibility of moving there.
