Louisiana: 44th worst

Mardi Gras makes our winter worth braving....

You think they’d have Mardi Gras in February if that wasn’t an ideal time for a party?!?!! Wait -- what do you mean “it’s set by the church calendar to always fall the day before Ash Wednesday?” Well, you think they would’ve petitioned the pope for a change by now if that humid subtropical climate didn’t laissez les bon temps rouler?!? Yeah, I have no idea either, I guess.

The only redeeming aspect of that link is that it was not a slide show. For that, you should be commended.

The coldest I've ever been was Illinois. The coldest winter was in a drafty 151 year old house in Holly springs Mississippi.

The last 7-8 days in South Louisiana has been the most miserable winter weather ever. Fact

I love the weather here. The older I get, the more I love the heat. I just went for a three hour walk on January 3 and I was sweating. It's awesome.

I nominate Jefferson County, New York (my peeps) for winter lake effect.

You can brave single digits in the dry mountain west fairly easily. A raw, windy, rainy day in Louisiana with temperatures in the thirties is just miserable.

La can be pretty shitty... Ever sit in an open stadium when it's raining in the upper 30's low 40's...?

This. Obviously it is nice right now, but when it starts to get in the low 40s and 30s, Louisiana is miserable.

At least you have skiing and whatnot up north/out west. And I say this as someone who prefers our weather to colder climates'.

Unless you live in the snow belt of ohio, ohio weather sucks. Its always cold, rainy, sleet, and up and down temps which give everyone colds. We don't see the sun either. If it's going to be cold, I want snow. Most the snow hits northeastern ohio because of lake effect

I don't understand how Oregon is #17...

Just because a few hipters in Portland complain about the rain?

There is nothing like the Oregon Cascades/Siskiyous/Coastals in Winter.

List is shite. The author obviously hasn't been to most of the states he rated and just runs with tired clichés.

I'm going with North Dakota. At least when it's 30 degrees, windy, and raining, we have gumbo. They just have this.

I just can't believe North Dakota isn't #1. On top of a simply miserable winter, you're in the most boring state in the Union. Nothing to do there but drink yourself into a coma.

But does winter impede the whole Mardi Gras "show us your tits" thing?
