Which mistake is easier to fix: telling wrong guy sorry or forgetting you told?

Which social mistake is easier to fix:

1) Telling the wrong person you are sorry for doing something?

2) Forgetting you told someone you were sorry and telling them you were sorry all over again as if the first conversation never happened?


Which one of these situations are easier to fix from your standpoint?
