I have a bike that isn't good enough to go on higher end websites, but worth too much (~500 or so) for me to just give away or toss out. Probably not worth the trouble of shipping through ebay for most people either (I have a listing that is getting no attention). Craigslist is filled with bikes from my area and they never seem to be taken down.

Not many people buy used bikes. if they are really into the sport they buy new.

you are just begging for someone to ask why type of bike arent you.

BTW i wish TD did have a market board that you have to have like 10k posts to use to prevent the shitbags selling stuff on there like they have on the ticket exchange.

Could do Ebay, local pickup only.

craigslist is a great place to sell a bike imo. I've sold several on there.

Not really. I don't live in LA, so this would be a shitty place to try to sell it. I'd put in on LA sportsman if I still lived there. I'll even go so far as to say that no one on this site is allowed to buy it so that it doesn't seem like I'm trying to sell it here .

I just can't think of a place to try to off load this thing and I'd really like to buy a new bike, but not sure my wife would let me without getting rid of the other one first. May end up at good will or something.

What kind and brand is the bike? CraigsList is the best I've experienced. Sold and bought on there with no issues. Still have both kidneys and all.

I have an ad there too. But I've been casually shopping for something for about 6 months and I'm looking at used bikes as well as new. I see the same bikes on craigslist that I did 4 months ago. Plus there are hundreds, so I'd be hard to find. I've had one person contact me in 3 weeks, but I was on vacation and they had bought another bike by the time I got back.

These people generally mark the price way to high for a used bike. High-end bikes are a lot like boats. People buy them with intentions on using the shite out of them, only to seldom use and sell a short time later. If you think it's worth $500, list for $250. If it is a decent brand, you'll have a buyer in no time.

Good bikes at good prices sell very fast on craigslist. The ones you see on their all the time are priced too high, terrible sellers to work with, or junk.

Oh, I'd probably consider my bike junk . But I've also got my eyes set on much nicer bikes.

It's not a bad starter bike. I bought it for around 1k two years ago. I have a much nicer tri bike and never ride it, so I'm looking to upgrade my road bike. I'm figuring 500 from the bike blue book value and subtracting a little due to the fact that I know that price is probably inflated. If you were to buy new, you'd be spending $1200 right now.

I'll slowly lower the price, but would like to get it out there on as many sites as possible before I do so.

If you're price is fair and you're in a decent area it'll sell on Craigslist. I've used it to buy and sell a couple bikes successfully. The last one being a Specialized Crosstrail, a guy came from Beaumont to Lafayette to get it.

There's an app called Letgo.

It's basically a social media app version of craigslist... I would try posting it there as well as craigslist
