Upstate Maine. You'll never be short on food with the abundant number of fish and moose (you'll encounter more moose than people). Plenty of space to live like a hermit. I'd imagine the weather is more all-around tolerable than Alaska as well.

One of the bear-less islands around here. Make a nice little cabin, live on salmon, halibut and deer/moose.. S.e Alaska is the size of Florida with only 70k people. Most living in three towns. Thousands of islands.

Ozarks are a good choice. Lots of remote land. Not too cold in winter. Not too hot in summer

Areas that have a lot of tourism...They are used to seeing strangers, do a great deal of seasonal hiring, usually reward hard workers...

Not that I have had to do it...lately

No answer is totally without pros/cons, but if you're an Ole Miss alum wanting to stay anonymous, Atlanta would be your best bet.

No one would ever expect you there.

I'd head back to Alaska. I lived there before and loved it and always wanted to go back to live there. Wild game and fish are abundant there and the summers with their almost all day sunshine make for growing some very nice produce.

Or I could always build a sweet lil houseboat and go live in the wilds of the remote parts of the swamps and bayous, like in the documentary Atchafalaya Houseboat.

You're not thinking this through. Every church choir in your town vacations there.

You need to be in downtown Chicago, Detroit, or Cleveland.

Places no one vacations in.
