John Ehrlichman-

Nixon Aide admits war on Drugs was to target Blacks

You understand what I'm saying? We knew we couldn't make it illegal to be either against the war or black, but by getting the public to associate the hippies with marijuana and blacks with heroin. And then criminalizing both heavily, we could disrupt those communities," Ehrlichman said. "We could arrest their leaders. raid their homes, break up their meetings, and vilify them night after night on the evening news. Did we know we were lying about the drugs? Of course we did."

People can seek better areas to live in and put their kids into better schools. At the end of the day it's all up to you whether you succeed or not. The mythical boogeyman isn't holding anyone back from receiving good education.

Its not all the media's fault. A lot of it falls on the idiots who are ignorant enough to buy into it.

I'm not excited because I have faith in Trump. I'm excited because the majority of America is smart enough to see through the media BS.

There are tons of laws and campaigns started to target certain segments of the populace.

Weird that our black president allowed that to slip by under his watch. Hopefully trump can do something about it since he wants to fix our inner cities.

What does this have to do with 2016 America? The government isn't the one holding back African Americans. African Americans are responsible for their problems, not the government.

The war on drugs has no effect on my performance in school or work.

Not just education. A lot of things..how many people know how to grow their own crops if need be? The quality of seeds have been reduced over years and modified. People depend on markets..hell, a lot of people can't even cook for themselves. And the pre-made food that is bought is made with a lot of corn base which has little nutritional value. That's just 1.

Then you have media doing what they do. A lot of shite out there designed to keep people distracted and used to convenience

Futures Bleak dropping truth bombs. Ben Carson for example, grew up in extreme poverty, by a single mother, performed the first surgery on twins conjoined at the head. How could he possibly make it out of extreme poverty to become a VERY successful surgeon?

You don't see how a targeted campaign by the federal government to lock up black people had any impact on the black community? These same laws are still on the books in 2016.

You don't see how a concerted effort to vilify black people on the evening news since the creation of television would help demonize an entire race of people?

ripple effect...

As the wave from a ripple stretches outwards with time, it's huge, yet almost impossible to see.

48 years is one, maybe 2 generations. You think that an entire race of people are going to overcome centuries of oppression in 1 or 2 generations.

In America's current landscape the oppression is not insurmountable, but it's still there. Most people just accept it and live life the best they can others are still try to fight it.

Who's forcing AA's to engage in criminal activity??

People aren't forced to be uneducated and in poverty. There are literally millions of examples of AA's escaping their bad situations and succeeding.

Criminal activity is glorified. lol some go as far as to say Wayne is an illuminati puppet now to keep his own people down. I don't think so, but I do believe violence and the attaining of money by any means necessary is glorified and more than often encouraged.

There are positive stories. But they stand out for a reason. The majority doesn't make it that far. And true oppression effects the majority of a minority.

Did I just say that it's not insurmountable? It's like you just see what you want to.

There are millions of AA doing very well, but people who escape dire beginnings are the exception not the rule. Everyone is not going to be successful it's just the way the system is set up. There are only so many high paying jobs to be had. If you start on 3rd base you have a much greater chance of making it home than someone who doesn't even have a bat.

This is clear, but I shake my head every time I hear someone say they were born into poverty and can't improve their situation.

It will take a crap ton of hard work, but I know one individual of hispanic descent personally who grew up in a trailer with meth head parents and busted his arse to go to college and improve his situation and is now upper middle class.

It's rare, yes. But impossible, no. No matter what, I think someone can always improve their situation financiallly somewhat. Not shack to mansion, but projects to an apartment in a nicer/safer area, yes.

bullshite.

Majority of people's perception is due to media. A lot of the current racial feelings got its root in the Trayvon Martin shooting, whose evidence was altered by media to suit the narrative, and a Hispanic was turned white to do the same.

It's silly for one person to tell another how they should feel.

And yet that has been 90% of politics these past 10 years.

Feel this way, or else fear the wrath of SJWs

Etc etc

I agree.

But as I said earlier, IMO class plays into an oppression effect much more so than race. Regardless of how media or etc portrays it.

When people defy odds, they do that and shine because of how the odds can be stacked. Work, discipline & self respect are a key in any true success.
