Murphy's was the Long Branch until the late 1970's.

Murphy's was across the street from what is now Louies. It was in a shopping center that had Paradise records and a Blimpie's. There was an IHOP right next to it and a theater. This was in mid-80's.
Louie's used to be in another location before 1985 or so and had like 6 stools at a bar and that was it.

The Tiger was Cilly's before being the Tiger, as someone said it was Scarlett O's and Baby Does before that.
I loved Shanahan's, many drunk nights there as a freshman

It was real. It was Fap's before it was Freds.

Murphy's was frat city. My friend got arrested one night there because the cops raided the bar for underage drinkers and she walked out with a beer in her hand. Open container. Ah, the good old days.

Fap's was named after the owner, Freddie A. Pou. He owned one or two other bars, including the White Horse. A little guy, maybe five foot four, but he was an ex-Green Beret from the Vietnam era, and nobody fricked with him. Ever.
As others have said, Murphy's was the shite. It was like a fratstar heaven. I can't even describe what it was like.
The owner, Bennett Murphy, owns a dude ranch in New Mexico now.
