shite happens. Support him the best that you can and let him know things could be worse. Once he starts at LSU things will look up. Let him know the the best part of his life is about to start.

Throw a bee hive on him while he is sleeping. Then say, "Don't worry, BEEEE happy". He'll get a kick out of that

I plan on doing that when I have a child

Nope. I didn't have anxiety from it or anything, but I couldn't help but keep feeling angry- espeically towards blacks in general since my robber was black. Thankfully, I've learned my feelings were incredibly irrational and ignorant.

I always tell my kids, "Good thing you're tough!"

But this is worth reading too...

When things go wrong, as they sometimes will,

When the road you're trudging seems all uphill,
When the funds are low and the debts are high,
And you want to smile, but you have to sigh,
When care is pressing you down a bit-
Rest if you must, but don't you quit.
Life is queer with its twists and turns,

As every one of us sometimes learns,
And many a fellow turns about
When he might have won had he stuck it out.
Don't give up though the pace seems slow -
You may succeed with another blow.
Often the goal is nearer than

It seems to a faint and faltering man;
Often the struggler has given up
Whe he might have captured the victor's cup;
And he learned too late when the night came down,
How close he was to the golden crown.
Success is failure turned inside out -

The silver tint in the clouds of doubt,
And you never can tell how close you are,
It might be near when it seems afar;
So stick to the fight when you're hardest hit -
It's when things seem worst that you must not quit.

My son who is slated to attend LSU 2016 has had the worst luck. 2 weeks ago he totals his car thankfully being OK. He dropped his IPhone which cost 100 to get repaired. Some good news happens when he gets a job only to be robbed at gunpoint on his second day there. Yesterday he is diagnosed with Mono and must sit out the Soccer city league. I don't know what I can say to him that will encourage his luck. Anyone experience this?

He could have been rejected by LSU, died in the crash, not been able to afford the phone, and diagnosed with bacterial meningitis. You could say that given the circumstances someone is looking out for him.

Tell him he is strong and capable to meet all these challenges/ adversity. Keep making good choices and doing the right thing, don't get down on your self. It gets better.
