Pursuing a stolen car north bound on Airline at Prescott at 92 mph (according to my dash camera).
Car turned left in front of me, swerved to avoid the impact, rotated clock wise between a telephone pole, and yawed driver side door into the path of a oncoming Ford F250 south bound.
Stared down the headlights of my undoubtable death. If he struck me on my driver side door at our combined speeds I wouldn't have survived.
By the grace of God my path continued off the road and onto the shoulder.
Worst part of it all, I caught back up to the stolen car and stopped it. All for NOTHING. Owner recovered it a few days earlier and failed notify us to take it out of the system.

1) Almost killed about 15 years ago driving. Cut off going about 65 on a highway, did two 360s on the wet road while almost getting clipped by two passing cars in the other lane. When I was done with the second 360, I was somehow pointed the right direction on the road, with another car coming behind me that was able to avoid rear ending me....

Also got drugged in Tiajuana and put myself in a bad spot. Made it out okay.

So the rightful owner was running from you or are you just an overzealous cop?

I worked for a company in Houston that built Power Plants and Enron fricked it up..
8 months in and they went from hiring 30 people per month to cutting 10 per week.
Every company that we dealt with: AES, Calpine, etc had their stocks drop 90%.

I ran the plate as the vehicle passed me and it came back as stolen. The high speed was my effort to try to catch back up after a u-turn.
And yes, I was overzealous. Stolen cars do not exactly recover themselves.

Worked a 14 hour shift in New Orleans after Katrina and then pulled an all nighter on a date. Had to be back in Bay Saint Louis at 8am. Probably the most tired I've ever been coupled with a 4 star hangover. Fell asleep on I-10 East doing 80mph. My head bobbed and I woke up approaching a stalled flatbed truck in the center lane. Swerved at the last second and missed it to the right by what looked like 1/8 of an inch.
No doubt if I had dozed 1 second longer I would have been killed instantly.

When I was 9, got hit in the head with the axe side of a mattock(pickaxe with a hoe instead of a pick). Doctor said a millimeter of movement in any direction, angle, etc... and I was dead. As it was all I need was 4 stitches. I have a hard skull apparently.

Once I was driving with 2 friends senior year of high school. The sun was bright in front of us and my visors were down. We were jamming to some song and I didn't see a red light from a combination of us being stupid mostly and the visors being down. A car had a green at the intersection and it was a little old lady, we are both very lucky she saw me coming I missed her by 3 feet. I'll never forget the look on her face.

Working on a pipeline barge. Cables from the pulling unit ran along the deck of the barge, through these big rollers. One day, one of the rollers broke loose. Three of us were standing there, and the whole roller/cable tangle took out the middle guy and drug his arse down the deck. We thought he was seriously fricked up, but all he had was a couple of broken fingers and a shitload of bruises.

Can think of one. Overseas in Iraq, I volunteered to spend a couple of weeks attached to one of our infantry companies at Abu Ghraib. Platoon leader decided to send another medic instead. The guy ended up being injured in a rocket attack and lost both of his legs.
Guy's still alive so I guess he dodged a bullet too.

My senior yr of high school: 1976 Customized Ford Bronco's steering column broke going 75 down Hwy 11 in Carriere, MS . Luckily, there were guard rails leading up to the bridge when I crossed over into oncoming traffic ... Took my chances slamming on brakes vs running over the oncoming Camaro...to this day I can still see the kids face in the other car
The last time I drank and drove was in Pensacola while co-oping...drove 7 miles down center turn lane(what I was told by people I was following) back down town to the Waffle House after a buddy who was the driver that night (and also the place we were supposed to crash at) decided puss over buddies...anyway girl I knew took keys at Waffle House and I crashed on her sofa...real wake up call as I don't remember much of the night...now I don't drink if there is a chance I might drive
