My girlfriend is obsessed with it. She wakes up at 5am 3 times a week just to attend these classes.

I will say, I saw the girls that are in her class once ... and god damn.

Some people like motivation of a group. Get off your soapbox.

Exactly. That's why Zumba classes are also super popular as well as other group classes. For some people.....they really enjoy and benefit from group classes. Me......personally I've never really liked them....but that's just cause I prefer to work out alone. But if someone can afford the classes.....who cares? At least they are doing something to stay active. I would imagine those barre classes are not super easy either.

Its always a bad idea to tell your SO to work out.
I always find it better to poke their belly and say "hoo hooo" like the Pillsbury doughboy. They get the message

Wife loved it, but had one bad experience with the yoga poses they do. It works. That's why they do it.

Tried it for a month and really liked it, I just didn't wanna keep paying $100 a month for it. My monthly gym membership has better value. If your SO grew up doing tap, jazz, ballet stuff, she will like it. If she grew up playing sports, she'll probably hate it.

my wife's friends are all into it. She tried it a few times and said it wasn't for her, too expensive for what you get.

it seems to be fading in popularity though.

the stripper / burlesque classes are gaining in popularity, I asked the wife to attend those and was shot down.

Call me traditional. I'll stick to my regular cardio, weights, Body Pump, & Spin.

Why do you say the popularity is fading? Everyone talks about how busy the classes are and how they seem to work on toning.

Just wondering before I consider purchasing my wife some classes.

Do they still have the Pure Barre open on the North Shore?

Sometimes people get bored with the same fitness routine and need to do something different for a change though. Whatever works to get you doing it on a regular basis. I know I get bored easily with workouts and always try to find different ways to switch things up.

If you get bored at home I'm sure we can switch some things up if you like.

I love them. I don't go weekly, but I supplement my routine with a few classes here and there if I can find the time. I do a lot of yoga and pilates so it fits in pretty well for me.

It's a good work-out to strengthen and tone to make you leaner without adding bulk which is exactly the kind of body that future trophy wives such as myself seek to attain, haha

Besides, going these classes makes me feel like a ballerina!
