Question. What is the difference between this and a dress shirt you have tailored?

Purple bordered toga. What is good enough for a Roman Emperor is good enough for me.

No offense, but I've worn suits most days for the last 15 years working with many of very successful people and every time I see French cuffs, I think either "Trying too hard" or "This guy's a snake, hold your wallet."

I would wear french cuffs only for me, because I like the look or I want to use links.

But as long as you're not douche who proclaims that barrel cuffs are beneath him, I like them fine.

Go see Martinez on Corporate in Baton Rouge or Luca Falcone in New Orleans. Skip the french cuff IMO

I know what you mean. But I have a ton of cuff links from the serious (Tiffany) to the whimsical (Scrabble initials) so I only wear French cuff.

Coming here to post this. 99% of the time I see someone in a french cuff shirt I feel like the guy is screaming "see how classy I am."

I don't know about that. I think it adds to the suit ... I love nice cuff links!!

Eta: of course it has to be a nice suit. They look terrible with an off the rack cheap suit

Oh, to answer your question, I'm a fan of the John W. Nordstrom brand at Nordstrom's. It's a great shirt at the $80 price point.
