No fricking clue.

But... I'm married, mid 30s, no kids. For me, going to Disney would be one of the worst vacations I could imagine.

When I have a kid, and they are old enough to appreciate it, then maybe it's time to go. Once.

What I get:
-People with young kids looking for something fun to do that their kids will enjoy. It's a fun trip for the kids.

What I don't get:
-Couples in their mid/late-20's or early 30's with no kids who go do Disney World of all places. I went a couple times as a child and had a lot of fun. But I was a child.
-People who go every single year.
-You are young, have no kids and can go anywhere and do anything but choose to spend ~$5000 at Disney. The Roman Colosseum. Machu Picchu. Great Pyramid of Giza. The Beaches of Hawaii. The beaches and party scene in Ibiza. Skiing in the Rockies. An African safari. Yellowstone National Park. ... Cinderella Castle.

-Brutally long lines for any worthwhile rides
-Crowds everywhere
-If you go in the summer it's hot and humid as balls
-Everything is expensive
-People walking around with cartoon costumes
-Disney themed everything

Tell me what I'm missing about not going to Disney World as a late 20's male with a fiance and no kids.

You're a self-centered person that hates children. It shouldn't be a surprise that Disney is unappealing to you. Somehow it is. You may also be stupid as well.

some people hate the beach, may hate cruises, and maybe don't like planning activities to do so they choose DW...who cares? Some people may only go to the mountains on vac while others go to the beach every year...isn't that the same thing?

They could take every decent ride at all the Disney parks and combine them into 1 park and Universal would still be better.

I'm definitely with you on this.

But to answer your question, younger people and couples with no kids (or older kids) go to Disney because Disney has done a brilliant job in making Disney World "grow up" with the population who they appealed to as kids. There's a ton of things to do now at Disney which are appealing to adults. It's not just rides for kids anymore.

So basically, Disney got these people hooked on Disney World when they were 7 years old, and added mature attractions as time went on, which kept those people coming back as they grew up.

Is it wrong for adults to maintain a childish side?

Are you retarded?

I have a friend that's a tugboat captain..... Works 14-14, he and his family moved to Orlando so they could go to Disney whenever they wanted. They have season passes and all. Always posting on FB from the most Magical place in the world. I don't get it, I went once, I'm good for the rest of my life.

That's fine and I get why people don't like it. I feel the same way about beaches and cruises. I don't get them at all but I know some people love them. Different strokes and whatnot....

In my mid twenties I was watching the movie in Canada EPCOT. It occurred to me what the F am I doing here. I could be seeing the real thing for a lot less money and hassles.
I was immediately over the wonders of Disney.

When we were in Southern California for the Rose Bowl one of our team activities was going to Disneyland the day after Christmas. The Rose Bowl staff gave us these special football shaped passes that let us go to the front of any line via the exit. Because of that, we had a blast because we got to hit up everything multiple times.

At the same time, without those passes, it would have been miserable. It was crowded as hell and the waits for some rides were 2-3 hours. frick that shite. People were giving us the death eye as we kept going on certain rides through the exit for the sole purpose of getting our mid ride picture taken in various poses.

Why the frick would you spend all that money just to stand in line.

You won't regret it. Get the fast passes, though. If you think the reaction at the age of 3 would be awesome, wait until they are just a little older and able to grasp things better.

What you don't get:

These people aren't spending your money. Also, they are going somewhere you apparently aren't, so they are not even inconveniencing you at all.

Why do you care how they spend their money?

And no I'm not one of these people, I haven't been to Disney in at least 15 years.

Its about costs. You could visit half of those places by simply visiting the countries in Epcot. Simple math.

They're close-minded and usually fat. Cut them some slack.
