Where you think we saw Star Wars at?

I bet that one was good in the fancy theater.

Movie Tavern, probably a bad knock-off, opened on Corporate, I need to check it out.

Just the bar area in the Scottsdale one, with Tv's; just a good place to grab a drink if not in a movie mood.

Serious question... what is it about these concessions that make the experience better? Why do people line up in droves for them?

And how many of us end up eating all of whatever we got before the movie even starts?

We have a place here that tickets are 6$. All popcorn is free refills. Small is 3$. All drinks are free refills. Small is 2$. It is always packed and a couple bigger ones have gone out of business. They built their second one here about a year ago and it's packed always too.

Went to a movie for the first time in 10 years.

Here's your problem. The price of everything has gone up in the last 10 years. Its called inflation. BTW I paid $5 to see a movie today.

I don't know how people sit around and do nothing for two and a half hours. And pay to do it

I bring my own drink and snacks. The only thing I buy is the ticket. Sometimes if I'm off during the week I'll go and it's only like $7.

Why the frick are you both buying drink & popcorn? Or alternatively, why the frick are you buying a $14 popcorn and a $14 drink?

Don't get me wrong, I'll occasionally bring something in, say a bottle of water and a box of candy or two from the Dollar Tree. I just do not understand spending all of that money on concessions. I've heard people refer to it for the "experience."

Redbox baw. If we do happen to go to the movies, me and my gf will go get popcorn from the popcorn bistro or snacks from a dollar store and she puts it in her purse.

My wife and I go to the cannnery casino in vegas. Matinee tix are $9 ea and later shows are $14, I think. But the seats are all lazy boys with fold out tables. You also get to pick your own seats. It has a bar at the concession stand as well.

There's only 2 or 3 theaters in Vegas like this. I tend not to tell anyone about it, cause it's usually not packed. Another nice thing is raising canes is next door, so we'll load up that in the wife's purse.

Don't order a popcorn and coke for both you and your wife, is that so hard? Either split one each or just abstain. Boom, $20 instead of 50

Last movie I saw (at a movie theater) was The Perfect Storm when it was first released. I bitched about the prices then and think that was 15 years ago.

So people should have to ration everything to make the movies affordable?

I can't believe anyone still goes. You can get Netflix for less than the price of one movie ticket.

Theaters are for fools.

I vividly recall my parents complaining about movie prices back in 1990 when Batman came out. It's a generational thing to compare prices from another era.
