First child lost his first tooth this afternoon. Don't want to start the precedent too high but don't want to be cheap either. What's the OT rate?

Now's a good time to teach your kid about inflation.

My nephews get $20 per tooth.

I always got $5 per tooth.

I told my sister that's too much, but she brought up inflation

depends on how old your kids are and what their lifestle is like...

I would give $10 or so...

Has everything a six year old can have. Already has too much in my opinion.

I never remember getting more than $1. I'm pretty sure my step daughter has regularly gotten $5, with $10 and $20 sprinkled in (from grandma).

well, that is pretty much my take on all kids nowdays...but I am pretty old-fashioned...

basically, you have to figure out how much you need to give him for him to be able to buy something affordable that is meaningful to him...maybe a duck call or a pack of baseball cards, or a baseball glove...if he likes ice cream, then give him enough to buy a hot fudge sundae, etc....
